When love is like calling an ambulance
Sometimes it seems to me that working on an ambulance is very similar to relationships. We always go out into the unknown: a call, an address, someone else's life that needs to be held by the edge of a thread. And then you burst into a house where there is chaos, tears and fear... and suddenly you become the person on whom everything depends.
It's the same in love. We never know what awaits us tomorrow. Today the heart is calm, tomorrow it can stop from pain or fly from happiness. And as a doctor, I understand: time decides a lot. In medicine - every minute. In feelings - every step.
I believe that love is not only tenderness and hugs, but also courage. Courage to arrive on time, courage to speak, courage to act. Because sometimes the heart does not need medicine, but to be heard.
And if you ask me what I want for myself... then, probably, someone who, at the most important moment, will not wait for someone’s call, but will simply be there.
