A Survival Guide for August: How Not to Miss Out on Summer—or Lose Yourself
You know that strange feeling when you look at the calendar, see the number "3" marking the last month of summer, and feel a sinking sensation in the pit of your stomach? It feels as though life is racing ahead at full speed, while you’re left standing on the platform with an unfinished book and a suitcase that never made it to the seaside.
Yesterday, I caught myself in a panic, trying to "do it all": visit my favorite beach, drink every mint lemonade imaginable, wander the city at night, and—of course—"relax." But wait a minute. Who came up with this race, anyway?
Summer isn’t a sprint; it’s a state of mind. And if your vacation this year consisted of nothing more than a cup of coffee on the balcony accompanied by birdsong, or a spontaneous weekend trip to a nearby town—that counts, too. Life doesn’t just fly by while we’re busy making plans; it’s happening right now—in the blades of grass pushing through cracks in the asphalt, in the scent of evening tomatoes from the garden, and in those messages from old friends who suddenly ask, "So, how are you doing?"
Let’s make a pact: we won’t spend the remaining days of summer in a frenzy. Let’s savor them instead.
Have you managed to check "take a vacation" off your list this season? And if so, where did you leave a piece of your heart? Share in the comments—let’s reminisce together!
So, can I look forward to your comments and maybe even stories?
It would be such a pleasure—and so interesting—to share things with you and hear from you.
I can't wait!
