Autumn 2026. Do you know what a date in Kyiv is like in 2026?

It’s like when my friends and I joke that the question "Do you have power?" sounds more intimate and romantic than the cliché "How are things?"

I am 43. I live in a city that has learned to greet the dawn to the sound of air defense systems, to sip cooling coffee in Shevchenko Park while an air-raid siren wails, and to make evening plans while keeping in mind the power-outage schedule and the charge level of a portable power bank.

Many might assume that at this age—and under these circumstances—women would withdraw from the world. But the truth is, the exact opposite is happening. The war and the relentless stress have stripped away all the superficial layers, false expectations, and imposed fears.

We have stopped putting life off until "later," waiting for the perfect moment, or fearing that we might appear "too strong" or "too vulnerable."

What am I feeling right now?
An immense thirst for life. When every day serves as a reminder of how fragile everything around us is, you begin to cherish every single moment—every cup of morning cappuccino, every sincere embrace—with your whole heart.

An absolute intolerance for drama. I have neither the time nor the energy for toxicity, games like "will he text or won't he," or idle small talk about the weather. At 43, I’ve reached that wonderful point where I know exactly where my boundaries lie.

A paradoxical tenderness. Despite all the armor I have to wear in my daily life, deep down there remains a profound need—to simply rest my head on someone’s shoulder, let out a breath, and feel safe. Free from all anxiety. If only for an hour.

Is that a problem for you?

What am I hoping for, given everything that’s going on?

I’m not looking for a prince on a white horse or a savior—I am an adult, self-sufficient woman who manages her own life just fine.

But I do hope to meet a partner—not a project.

I value a mature kind of honesty—where people don’t hide behind masks, but speak openly about who they are and what they want.

I also value the ability to engage with reality—the capacity to understand what it means to live in the here and now.

...in Kyiv, who shares this pain, this pride, and this rhythm—without pretending that nothing is happening all around us.

Someone who values respect, humor, and warmth. We all need someone who can make us laugh even on the darkest of evenings, and who can share a cup of tea by candlelight as if it were a dinner at the finest restaurant in the world.

If you, too, are tired of superficiality, value sincerity, know how to brew coffee during a power outage, and have a clear sense of what you want from life—let’s get to know each other.

Perhaps our evening together could begin with a question:

...one that would simply warm my heart and whisk me away from reality!?
