The power of one button
There is one thing that tests my mental stability every day - the elevator call button. No, not at work, but at home, in an ordinary entrance. Why, tell me, is there always a person who presses it... and then three more times in a row, as if the elevator will hear better?
Today I was standing with a neighbor. He pressed the button, it lit up. After 3 seconds - again. After 2 - again. I asked:
- Do you accompany it with a spell or just check the pressure?
He looked at me very seriously and said:
- The elevator must have an incentive.
So I thought - we are all like an elevator in some way: it seems like we have already pressed the button, there is a signal, but without an “incentive” we do not move. Especially men. Especially in correspondence.
So if you are also stuck in one place, like an old elevator in a house without a dispatcher - just press the button. At least one. Answer the person who is already waiting for you. Perhaps this button will change something. And if not - you can press it again... but not three in a row.
